Yang Yi, spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office under the State Council, disclosed on September 16 that to promote cooperation between Taiwanese and Chinese mainland enterprises and overcome the current difficulties, the Chinese mainland has taken the initiative to adopt active measures and organize purchasing groups to Taiwan to increase procurement. So far, over 10 billion U.S. dollars of purchases have been made.

Yang said that since the end of May, three batches of cross-Strait economic and trade promotion delegations organized by departments related to the Ministry of Commerce have successively made purchasing trips to Taiwan and signed deals worth 5.476 billion U.S. dollars. Moreover, some Chinese mainland groups and enterprises have conducted large-scale purchases in Taiwan, which has been welcomed by all circles in Taiwan and played an active role in strengthening cross-Strait business ties and promoting cross-Strait economic exchanges and cooperation.
