The Export-Import Bank of China (China Exim Bank) on Sunday signed here a memorandum with Colombia's National Department of Planning on financing Chinese companies interested in developing infrastructure projects in Colombia.

The agreement was inked by China Exim Bank Vice President Zhu Hongjie and the director of the National Department of Planning, Carolina Renteria, on the sidelines of the 50th Assembly of Governors from the Inter American Development Bank (IDB).

One of the issues dominating the meeting is to raise capital for Latin American and Caribbean nations to cope with the global financial crisis.

China, which officially joined IDB on Jan. 12, attended the yearly IDB meeting for the first time.
