Xie Zhenhua, deputy director of National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), stated that the investment demand of China’s environmental protection industry will reach 450 billion yuan.
At the founding ceremony for the research center for cyclic economy industry of China in Tsinghua University, Xie said that among China’s 4 trillion yuan stimulus package being implemented, 210 billion yuan is scheduled to be allocated for energy-saving and emission reduction, the development of cyclic economy and the construction of ecological environment.
Cyclic economy is also included in an array of plans about adjustment and revitalization for different industries as one of the important measures for industrial upgrading and restructuring.
Xie believed that the government will encourage private investment to invest in the energy-saving and environmental protection industry, and create outsourcing business for the key project of energy-saving and environmental protection, thus advancing the development of the service industry of environmental protection.
Liu Yanhua, vice minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology, said that his Ministry and NDRC, along with several other departments, will establish an industrial technology alliance of cyclic economy.
