Fujian’s first high-speed railway opens
|

On June 30, the Fujiang section of the Wenzhou-Fuzhou railway linking Fujian in the south and Zhejiang in the north was put into operation. It is one of the eight major lines of "north-south" and "east-west" railway network. The total length of the Fujian section reaches 229.1 kilometers, and the speed of train is set to 250 kilometers/ hour. The railway has become a symbol for the construction of railway in the Economic Zone on the Western Coast of the Taiwan Strait. According to the plan, Fujian will build a modern railway network which will reach 5000 kilometers long by 2020. The photo shows the first freight train coming out of Zhanglin Station, Fuzhou.
