According to the latest data from the People's Bank of China (PBOC), China's forex reserve reached 2131.6 billion U.S. dollars by the end of June 2009, up 17.84 percent year-on-year. In the first half of 2009, China's forex reserve increased by 185.6 billion U.S. dollars; the figure is 95 billion U.S. dollars lower than the same time 2008.

In June, China's forex reserve increased by 42.1 billion U.S. dollars, 30.2 billion U.S. dollars higher than last June. Renminbi exchange rate recorded 6.8319 yuan to one U.S. dollar by the end of June.
