Chinese shares close down Monday

Chinese shares fell Monday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.77 percent, or 21.96 points, to 2,849.07.

The Shenzhen Component Index lost 0.87 percent, or 105.36 points, to 12,051.24.
