Chinese shares rise for second day on robust power, material producers

Chinese shares rose for the second consecutive day Tuesday, led by strong power and material firms.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index gained 0.63 percent, or 18.17 points, to 2,890.63.

The Shenzhen Component Index rose 0.76 percent, or 91.93 points, to end at 12,216.94.
