Samsung Elec's earnings record all-time high in 2010

South Korea's Samsung Electronics said on Friday that its earnings recorded an all-time high in 2010.

Samsung's revenue reached a record 154.63 trillion won (138 billion U.S. dollars) last year, up 13 percent from a year earlier, the company said in a regulatory filing.

Samsung, the world's No. 2 mobile phone maker, reported its operating profit, or sales minus selling and administrative costs, jumped 58 percent on-year to a record 17.30 trillion won in 2010 with net income sharply rising 65 percent to 16.15 trillion won, also a record high.

All figures are consolidated, meaning all earnings include results from overseas affiliates.

Its fourth-quarter revenue grew 7 percent from a year earlier to 41.87 trillion won on a consolidated basis, the company said.

Consolidated net income for the quarter climbed 13 percent on- year to 3.42 trillion won while consolidated operating profit fell 12 percent to 3.01 trillion won.
