UN Under-secretary-general for political affairs B. Lynn Pascoe and UN Secretary-general Ban Ki-moon's special envoy for Libya Abdelilah Al-Khatib will represent the United Nations at the first meeting of the Libya contact group in Doha, Qatar next week, UN spokesman Martin Nesirky told reporters here on Friday.

The meeting will take place on April 13 and will include the participation of representatives of the UN Development Program and the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.

Established on March 31 at the London conference on Libya, the contact group aims to provide political direction for Libya's future as the situation continues to deteriorate in the North African country.
