Qatar has recently set up a camp for 1,600 refugees in the southern town of Tataouine in Tunisia, the official news agency TAP reported on Monday.

The camp is equipped with a hospital, capable of carrying out surgical operations as well as regular medical consultations, and contains leisure and educational room for children. The camp also signed contracts with private companies to provide refugees with meals.

Tataouine hosts more than 42,000 refugees in all over the area, TAP said.
