The Sudanese army said Wednesday a training helicopter, belonging to the Sudanese Air force, burned while taking off from a military airport, resulting in the death of a crew member, reported official SUNA news agency.

The agency quoted Al-Sawarmy Khalid Saad, spokesman of the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) as saying that "the Mi24 aircraft was trying to take off from the military airport when one of its engines caught fire, then it deviated from the runway and burned. One of the aircraft's three-member crew died in the incident."
