Tunisia's interim government voiced great concern and sadness over unrest in Libya that have resulted in heavy casualties in a communique released on Monday evening, the official TAP press agency reported on Tuesday.

The communique called on Libyan authorities to avoid the bloodshed and preserve the country's unity, adding it hopes " security and stability will be restored and the legitimate rights of the Libyan people will be realized."

In a related event, more than 4,000 Tunisians working in Libya have been repatriated, among whom 1,200 will be flown home from Tripoli on Tuesday, TAP said.
