Egyptians would keep on protesting as long as Mubarak stays in power, said a leader of Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood at a press conference here on Tuesday.

The Muslim Brotherhood supported the protestors, said Ashraf Abdel Ghaffar, one of the leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood.

He listed poverty and the government's support for Israel as two main reasons behind the popular protest.

"We want a civilian and democratic state where the people choose their own government," he said.

Abdel Ghaffar said the press conference held here aimed to show the Turkish people the truth behind what was happening in Egypt, as many lies were being spread over the situation.
