Egypt shortened its curfew time to 7 p. m. to 6 a.m. starting on Saturday from 5 p.m. to 7 a.m., state television said Friday.

The curfew has been imposed in Greater Cairo, Alexandria and Suez since Jan. 28.

Tens of thousands of protesters gathered in downtown Cairo's Tahrir Square for the 11th straight days demanding the President Hosni Mubarak to step down.
