An ambulance pulled in at the hospital entrance specially set for South Africa's former President Nelson Mandela, media reports said Friday.

Mandela, 92, South Africa's first democratically elected president, was admitted to Johannesburg's Milpark Hospital on Wednesday, sparking a barrage of international media attention.

The country's Vice President Kgalema Motlanthe addresses the media on the subject at midday on Friday.

Motlanthe told reporters that Mandela is well.
