Niger to hold presidential election in January 2011

The commission said the presidential and legislative elections will be held on January 3, 2011.
If it is needed, a second round of the presidential election will be held on January 14, 2011, the commission also announced.
The CENI swore in its officials mid in June and they have been asked to embark on preparation for the elections and ensure that by March 1, 2011, the country's new democratic president is sworn in as recommended.
