Thousands of Moroccans marched in the kingdom's capital of Rabat on Sunday to protest against a deadly Israeli raid on a Gaza-bound aid flotilla last Monday, state-run MAP news agency reported.

Waving Moroccan, Palestinian and Turkish flags, the protestors chanted slogans condemning the Israel attack on the Freedom Flotilla which left nine Turkish activists killed.

Slogans like "liberate Gaza," "Israel should be punished," and "the attack is a crime against humanity" could be heard during the march that lasted for over three hours, according to the report.

Leaders of political parties and representatives from trade unions and human rights organizations took part in the march organized by the National Action Group for supporting Iraq and Palestine and the Moroccan association for the support of Palestinian people, the report said.

The protestors urged the international community to pressure Israel to respect the international laws, and called for lifting the Israeli siege on the enclave.

Early Monday morning, Israeli forces launched an attack on the Freedom Flotilla while it was en route to the besieged Gaza Strip, killing at least nine activists and leaving scores injured. The raid sparked outraged in the Arab countries and the world.
