Gabon union ONEP has suspended a strike and agreed to talk with the government, media reported on Saturday.
The ONEP, an energy sector union, was quoted as saying that the Gabonese government has "committed in writing" to meet their requirements, so the sides could open negotiations which would focus on working conditions.
The union called the strike over the service provided to the workers and the treatment of local workers, the report said.
But a leader of the ONEP was cited as saying that the suspension does not mean an end of the strike, warning that they would go back to strike when things does not go according to the commitment made so far.
The strike in the West African country has shut down oil production there this week.
