Turkish president pays working visit to DR Congo

Turkish President Abdullah Gul arrived in Kinshasa on Sunday for a 48-hour working visit in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo).
Gul will hold discussions with his Congolese counterpart Joseph Kabila Kabange on ways to promote and consolidate the economic and trade partnership between Kinshasa and Ankara.
"It is a meeting aimed at finding out the business opportunities in DR Congo," Gul declared upon arrival at the N'Djili international airport, He said he had come to reaffirm the close friendly ties between the two countries.
Gul is heading a delegation comprising three ministers and 158 business people.
Turkish exports to DR Congo reached 10.7 million U. S. dollars in 2008 while its imports from the central African country stood at 888,000 dollars.
