The African Union (AU) kicked off its 14th summit here Sunday in the Ethiopian capital to discuss development of the continent's Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), among other issues of major concern.

During the three-day summit, heads of state and government from more than 50 AU member states are expected to exchange views on challenges and prospects for the development of Africa's ICT sector, a crucial part of the continent's infrastructure development.

The leaders will also discuss issues of major concern in Africa, including regional conflicts, regional integration, and climate change, among others.

A series of reports will also be considered at the summit, including reports on the African Year of Peace and Security, unconstitutional changes of government, the New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD), as well as the implementation of previous decisions of the Executive Council and the Assembly.
