Madagascan President, Marc Ravalomanana, reportedly resigned on Tuesday around 13:55 p.m. (1055 GMT).

According to a private broadcast, Antsiva, no letter of resignation was confirmed to be written so far.

The radio also reported that the American embassy decided to take charge of the safety and well-being of the president from now on.

However, no official confirmation was available on the reported resignation of the president. Madagascar presidential spokesman Andry Ralijaona denied Antsiva's report, according to Reuters.
