The Constitutional Court of Angola is to announce next Tuesday the names of the political parties and coalitions that will run for the September 5 parliamentary elections, according to a communique issued here on Thursday. The court also set the deadline for submitting the files for candidature at 6 p.m. on Thursday.

The court has rejected the candidatures of four political parties and three coalitions due to their incompatibilities and omissions in their respective files submitted to the court.

The document also said that the court had earlier warned that the deadline will not be extended in accordance with Article 58 of the Electoral Law of Angola.

According to Article 58, "in the case of irregularities of fileor of ineligibility of the candidates, the Constitutional Court notifies the party in charge of candidature, minimum three days earlier, to correct the irregularity or replace the candidates till the 10th subsequent day of the end of the deadline to present the candidature."

With the exception of Angolan Communist Community Party (PCCA),Angola Peace Social (PSPA), the Angola National Unity (PUNA), the National Alliance (AN), and the Coalitions Union of Angola's Presidential Independence (UDPA), People's Voice and Patriotic Front, all other political parties should meet the fixed deadline.

The court has received a total of 34 files of candidatures, including ten coalitions, for September 5 parliamentary elections and examined the candidatures in the light of the Electoral Law and the Political Parties Law.
