Iran inaugurated its biggest solar power plant in the northeastern religious city of Mashhad on Thursday, the official IRNA news agency reported.

The solar power plant, built by native experts, is equipped with tracer system and solar panels, and would generate enough electricity to supply for Khorasan province's Regional Electric Company, IRNA said.

The plant aims to make optimum use of energies from natural resources, to develop clean energy that help reduce pollution to the environment, and to stabilize the electricity supply in the region, it said.
