The lawyer of Egyptian ex-president Hosni Mubarak said Mubarak is in a full coma, but hospital sources denied the statement, state TV said on Sunday.

The former president was in a full coma after his health suddenly deteriorated, state TV quoted his lawyer as saying.

But the same channel then said the manager of the hospital where Mubarak was held denied the lawyer's statement.

Mubarak is under custody since mid-April in the International Hospital of Sharm el-Sheikh for heart problems.

His two sons, Alaa and Gamal, have been since then detained in the Tora prison in southern Cairo. They were scheduled to stand trial on Aug. 3 with charges of killing protesters and corruption.
