Number of Syrian refugee in southern Turkey reaches 10,553

The number of Syrian refugee, who escaped from the violence in their country and took shelter in Turkey, reached 10,553, the semi-official Anatolia news agency reported on Sunday.

There are 2,583 men, 2,639 women and 5,331 children took shelter in Turkey, and they are staying in four temporary tent- sites set up by Turkish Red Crescent in Altinozu and Yayladag towns of Turkey's southern province of Hatay, according to the report.

Thirty-eight of the Syrians, who were wounded, were taken to hospitals in Hatay for medical treatment, said the report.
