Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said Wednesday that Gulf Cooperation Council ( GCC) ministerial meeting's statement about Iran is "unfounded", the semi-official ISNA news agency reported.

The GCC's move aims at diverting the world's public opinion from military actions of some regional states used to confront the legitimate demands and rights of their nations, Mehmanparast was quoted as saying.

He said "the (GCC's) move gives no assistance to regional stability," said the report.

In the final statement of the 119th session of GCC Ministerial meeting in Jeddah on Tuesday, the GCC ministers condemned Iranian intervention in the domestic affairs of the GCC states and expressed deep alarm at the issue of the Iranian nuclear file.
