Yemeni army forces and government supporters shot into the air and set off fireworks in almost all Yemeni provinces late Wednesday on the news of the successful surgery of President Ali Abdullah Saleh, the state television said.

"Fireworks cover the skies of the capital Sanaa and other Yemeni cities to rejoice for the successful surgery of President Saleh," the official satellite television channel reported.
