Fourteen Palestinian refugees were killed and 70 others were wounded by militants belonging to the Damascus-based Popular Front for Liberation of Palestine General Command (PFLP-GC), according to witnesses.

The clashes erupted on Monday when thousands of Palestinians who were in procession to mourn 10 of the 24 Palestinians killed by Israel troops on Sunday at the Syrian-Israeli cease-fire line, attacked the Syrian-backed Palestinian organization's headquarters in Yarmouk refugee camp near Damascus.

According to Isam, the mourners used stones, Molotov cocktails and firearms while the guards on the roof of the building responded by shooting on the crowd.

Meanwhile, Aboul Majd, a Palestinian official, told Xinhua by phone that the Palestinian organizations in Syrian has held an emergency meeting to discuss the "serious recent developments."

Thousands of young Palestinians and Syrians tried Sunday to cross the barbed wire fences into the Israeli-controlled Majdal Shams, to mark the Naksa Day, or setback day, the anniversary of the 1967 war, during which Israel seized control of the Golan Heights, the West Bank, East Jerusalem, the Gaza Strip and northern Sinai.

Israeli army responded with heavy fire, killing 24 and wounding 320 others, according to an official list emailed to Xinhua by Syrian Health Ministry.
