A policeman was killed and six security members were wounded in two bomb explosions in west of Baghdad on Sunday, a local police source said.

A bomb planted in a liquor store at a marketplace in the town of Abu Ghraib, some 20 km west of Baghdad, detonated at about 6:30 a.m. (0330 GMT) setting the store on fire, the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.

Another roadside bomb struck Iraqi security forces and fire engines which rushed to the scene, killing a policeman and wounding four others and two soldiers, the source said.

The attackers apparently used old tactic which depends on creating a secondary blast to attract security forces, then they set off another blast to get heavier casualties, the source added.

Abu Ghraib is part of the Sunni insurgent stronghold that stretches from the western edges of Baghdad through Anbar province and its vast desert. The area has been relatively calm for about four years since the Sunni tribes and anti-U.S. insurgent groups turned to cooperate with the U.S. troops and Iraqi security forces against al-Qaida network in Iraq.
