Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) is to stage two massive maneuvers in the country as part of a broader effort to strengthen the forces' preparedness against potential threats, Fars news agency reported Friday.

"IRGC will hold security maneuvers in the country's western and northwestern areas and defense maneuvers in one of the southern areas," Commander of the IRGC Ground Forces Mohammad Pakpour was quoted as saying on Thursday.

These maneuvers are said to aim at strengthening the preparedness of combat forces to counter possible threats.
