6.0-magnitude quake rocks western Turkey: USGS

An earthquake measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale jolted western Turkey at 20:15:23 GMT on Thursday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 4.60 km, was initially determined to be at 39.11 degrees north latitude and 29.12 degrees east longitude.

Minor quake was felt by residents in Istanbul, a Xinhua reporter said.
