Bahrain's largest opposition group Al Wefaq National Islamic Society on Wednesday denied any foreign conspiracy related to the recent anti-government protests, describing the demonstrations as "people's movement."
"We have received information indicating media fabrication," said a statement issued by the group, adding that any attempt by the authorities to link the people's demands to foreign sources was not right.
The Bahraini parliament on Tuesday approved the resignation of 11 parliament members of Al Wefaq, while the resignation of seven others will be decided next week during the parliament session.
A total of 18 Al Wefaq parliament members submitted their resignation last month in protest against the killing of anti- government protesters who demanded political reforms.
