Traffic congestion was also witnessed on the roads leading to Pearl Square located in the center of the capital as over 100 buses paraded in protest demanding the resignation of the government.

Al Wefaq, the main Shiite bloc, earlier announced they were quitting the assembly in protest against the killing of seven people during the unrest.

Bahrain's King Hamad bin Isa al-Khalifa sacked four ministers on Saturday after days of protests against the government.

Those who have been sacked were the ministers of cabinet affairs, housing, health and electricity.

Back on the Pearl Square, protestors continued their demand for the resignation of the entire cabinet, that should be replaced by the individuals elected by citizens.
