A senior Iranian military official said Tuesday that Admiral Mike Mullen's "hasty" trip to the region shows U.S. deep concerns over regional developments, the semi- official ISAN news agency reported.

"The hasty visit of Admiral Mike Mullen, chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, to the region shows U.S. deep concerns over the fate of the U.S. forces deployed in the region," said chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of Iran's Armed Forces Hassan Firouzabadi.

Firouzabadi said the U.S. troops should withdraw from the Middle East, underlying that any kind of military actions have no effect on Muslims' revolution in the region, according to the official IRNA news agency.

Mullen arrived in the region on Sunday for a week-long visit to strengthen U.S. strategic ties with its allies now facing waves of protests.
