Hundreds of Jordanians on Saturday gathered at the headquarters of the country's trade unions to celebrate the stepping down of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak.

The participants, including trade unionists, Egyptian nationals and members of several parties, expressed their joy over Mubarak's resignation.

During the celebration, Abdulhadi Falahat, head of the country' s Trade Unions Council, congratulated the Egyptians over the success of their revolution, urging Arab regimes to embark on reforms and reconcile with the public. He also called for more freedoms in the Arab world.

At the same time, the participants called for the dissolution of Jordan's lower house and urged the government led by Prime Minister Marouf Bakhit to resign.
