Three people were killed and seven injured in another two bomb attacks in and near the Iraqi capital of Baghdad on Thursday, the police said.

A bomb planted in a KIA minibus went off around midday when it was passing near a marketplace in the al-Jihad neighborhood in southwestern Baghdad, killing two people and wounding seven, an interior ministry source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.

In a separate incident, a sticky bomb attached to the car of a government employee detonated when the car was running in Abu Ghraib area, some 20 km west of Baghdad, a local police source told Xinhua, asking not to be named because he was not authorized to speak to the media.

Earlier in the day, an interior ministry source said three people were killed and 14 wounded in three bomb attacks across the capital in the morning.

Violence and sporadic high-profile bomb attacks continue in the Iraqi cities despite the dramatic decrease of violence over the last three years.
