U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton Wednesday called Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari, discussing the upcoming Arab League Summit and the Strategic Framework Agreement between the two countries, according to a State Department statement.

Clinton expressed support for Iraq's continued re-integration into the region, highlighting Iraq's hosting of the Arab League Summit in March.

The two top diplomats also discussed a number of bilateral issues of mutual concern, including the implementation of the Strategic Framework Agreement, said the State Department.

Earlier this month, the Iraqi government expressed its readiness to host the Arab League Summit in March, saying it will show that Iraq has resumed its role in the Arab world.
