Iran calls for all-out ties with Iraq

Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Saeed Jalili on Wednesday called for all-out cooperation with the Iraqi government, the official IRNA news agency reported.

In a meeting with visiting head of Iraqi National Coalition Ibrahim Jafari, Jalili voiced Tehran's readiness to promote all- out cooperation with Baghdad, the report said.

He said formation of the national solidarity government in Iraq is a great victory for the Iraqi nation, according to the report.

For his part, Jafari appreciated the Islamic Republic's constructive role in establishment of stability in Iraq and promotion of welfare of the Iraqi people, according to IRNA.

Expansion of political, economic and cultural ties with Iran is a priority for the new Iraqi government, he was quoted as saying.
