Israeli police said Sunday that they have arrested two Hamas members from East Jerusalem who were accused of planning to fire a rocket at the city's Teddy soccer stadium during a match.

The Shin Bet internal security service said the two had scouted out firing positions on the hills facing the stadium, and had surveilled the area in order to gather information about police and other security arrangements.

The two also had contacts with the Muslim Brotherhood, according to the Shin Bet.

Two cousins of one of the suspects were also arrested for buying arms and explosives for the attack with money given by Muslim Brotherhood operatives in Saudi Arabia, security sources said.

One of them have repeatedly traveled to Saudi Arabia over the past two years, Israel Radio reported.

Police said the four suspects had confessed to the charges, according to the Ynet news site.
