Qatar crown prince meets US homeland security chief

Qatar's Crown Prince Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani held talks on Sunday with U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, Qatar's official news agency reported.

They discussed ways to boost bilateral ties and the latest developments in the region, it reported.

After leaving the Gulf nation, Napolitano is scheduled to head for Israel and then Belgium. In Israel, she will discuss counter- terrorism measures taken at Tel Aviv's Ben-Gurion airport.

On Saturday, the senior US official wrapped up a two-day visit to Afghanistan where she reiterated the U.S. government's commitment to combating threats of terrorism in Afghanistan.
