Iran calls for expanding ties with Ukraine

Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani called for expansion of bilateral ties with Ukraine, the semi-official ISNA news agency reported Thursday.

In a meeting with Ukrainian Ambassador to Tehran Alexander Samaraski on Thursday, Larijani said "regional nations are experiencing ... new chances for amicable interaction," according to the report.

Larijani urged for taking new steps to advance cooperation between Iran and Ukraine in different fields, according to the report.

For his part, Samaraski said his country is willing to expand ties with Iran in all fields and added that the Ukrainian parliament supports any positive developments in bilateral relations.
