Three people, including a child, were killed, and four others were wounded in gunfire and bomb attacks in Iraq, the police said Tuesday.

In eastern Iraq, a roadside bomb struck a minibus carrying passengers while moving in southern Baquba, the capital city of Diyala province, some 65 km northeast of Baghdad, killing a four- year-old girl and wounding a man and a woman, a source from Diyala 's operations command told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.

In the northern town of Tal Afar, some 430 km northwest of Baghdad, gunmen attacked an Iraqi army checkpoint, killing a soldier and wounding another, a local police source said.

In Baghdad, a sticky bomb attached to the car of a Foreign Ministry employee detonated in the morning in Qadissiya neighborhood, critically wounding him, an Interior Ministry source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.

Late on Monday, gunmen using silenced weapons shot dead an Iraqi parliament employee while driving his car in Baghdad's central district of Karrada, the source said.

Violence and sporadic high-profile bomb attacks continue in the Iraqi cities despite the dramatic decrease of violence over the last three years.
