Another Palestinian was found dead in a smuggling tunnel that Israel's warplanes bombed overnight in southern Gaza Strip, which put the death toll at two, Palestinian rescue teams said Sunday.

Israel's airstrikes has so far wounded seven people on Gaza's southern borders with Egypt, a rescue worker said on condition of anonymity.

A local source from Rafah said the tunnel was owned by one of Gaza's armed groups.

Hamas controls Gaza since it uprooted security forces of Palestinian National Authority (PNA) President Mahmoud Abbas in 2007.

The security situation in Gaza escalated for the first time since the PNA and Israel resumed stalled peace talks in Washington last Thursday.

The Hamas attacked Jewish settlers in the West Bank before the U.S.-brokered talks started, killing four and wounding two in separate shootings.
