Iraqi President Jalal Talabani arrived at capital of Libya Tripoli on Sunday evening to participate in the five-party Arab summit slated on Monday, official Jana news agency reported.

Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi welcomed President Talabani in front of his residence, which was subject to the U.S. bombing raids in 1986, said the report.

President Talabani said "We are honored once again to visit Libya, and we saw the American brutal colonial aggression."

The Iraqi president was accompanied by his Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari, Interior Minister Jawad Bolani and his senior advisers.

Talabani will participate in the summit on Monday along with Libyan leader Gaddafi, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh and Qatar's Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.

The summit will discuss the cooperation of Arab countries in the light of the Yemeni initiative to form the Arab Union and suggestions proposed by Gaddafi.
