The Malaysian Red Crescent Society (MRCS) plans to launch its Gaza Fund on Wednesday to collect financial aid for the Palestinians, MRCS official said on Sunday.
MRCS vice chairman Bahari Abu Mansor said that he would lead a 9-member humanitarian aid mission to Gaza in early July to provide aid to the Palestinian Red Crescent there.
The mission is co-organized with the International Red Cross and Red Crescent, he added.
He said that financial aid is easier to be delivered into Palestine than goods in consideration of Israel's blockade to Gaza. But if the task is failed, the aid will be instead sent to a Palestinian hospital in Cairo, Egypt, he said.
