A British national working for Iran' s Press TV who was captured by Israel on board the Gaza-bound Freedom Flotilla has been released, the English channel Press TV reported on Sunday.

In an exclusive interview with Press TV on Saturday, the British named Hassan Ghani revealed new details about the Israeli attack against the Gaza bound aid convoy, saying that Israeli soldiers threw stun grenades and used rubber bullets against the people on board the ships, the report said.

An activist was shot straight in the forehead by an Israeli bullet, Ghani was quoted as saying as a witness.

"After many casualties on board, the organizers tried to prevent a massacre so they raised a white flag," he said.

Around 700 international activists on board the Gaza-bound aid flotilla were attacked Monday morning by the Israeli navy. At least nine people were killed and dozens of others injured.

The attack has sparked worldwide outrage.
