Iran's Foreign Ministry summoned Kyrgyz ambassador in Tehran Medetkam Sherimukulov to protest Bishkek's denial that "terrorist leader" Abdolmalek Rigi was arrested on one of its airliners, the state IRIB TV reported on Tuesday.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said Monday that there is evidence proving that Rigi was arrested on a Kyrgyz plane, the report said.

"Based on solid documents proving the presence and identity check of terrorist Abdolmalek Rigi on a Kyrgyz flight, who was later arrested, the Kyrgyz ambassador was summoned to the Foreign Ministry to hear Iran's concerns on use of territories of regional countries against the interests and security of Iran," Mehmanparast was quoted as saying by state-run IRNA news agency.

On Thursday, Kyrgyzstan denied the detention of any foreign nationals on board the Kyrgyzstan Airlines aircraft, according to Press TV.

The Kyrgyz ambassador condemned the terrorist actions of Abdolmalek Rigi in Iran and said he will inform his government of Iran's concerns, IRNA quoted Mehmanparast as saying.

Iranian authorities announced on Feb. 23 that they have arrested Rigi on a flight from Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, to Kyrgyzstan.

The Pakistani-based Jundallah group was founded by and had been under the command of Rigi who claims is fighting for the rights of Sunni Muslims in Iran. Iran and Pakistan said the group was behind numerous acts of terror, bombing and kidnapping.
