The Palestinian government headed by Prime Minister Salam Fayyad on Monday approved a draft resolution that calls for boycotting products made in Jewish settlement.

After its weekly meeting in Ramallah and attended by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, the Palestinian cabinet said in a statement that the resolution backs the Palestinian attitude "to clear up these products from Palestinian markets."

"This act will boost the Palestinian national economy and will encourage the Palestinian national products," said the statement.

President Abbas and the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) refuse to resume any peace talks with Israel until the latter clearly declares a full cessation of settlements in the West Bank and in the occupied East Jerusalem.

Meanwhile, the Palestinian government based in the West Bank also called on the international community to boycott the Jewish settlement products.

It praised the decisions of Britain, Norway and the Latin American countries to impose restrictions on goods and products made in Jewish settlements in the Palestinian territories.

"We hope that the attitude of these countries will turn into an international consensus," said the statement.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu considered the decision of the Palestinian to call on the international community to boycott Jewish settlements products as "a Palestinian incitement against Israel," reported the Palestinian official Wafa news agency.
