Two Palestinians were killed near Israel's borders in northern Gaza Strip, medical and security sources said on Sunday.

According to security sources, the Israeli army opened fire at the two early on Sunday, killing them immediately.

There has been no confirmation from the Israeli army yet.

Mu'awia Hassanein, a health ministry official, said ambulances were sent to the area but still waiting Israeli permission to approach the dead bodies.

It is still unclear if the dead were fighters or civilians.

The incident comes two days after Israeli aircraft dropped flyers warning people not to get close to the electric fence separating Israel and the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip.
