A senior aide to Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Sunday that Tehran has access to the technical know-how required for enriching uranium to a purity level of 20 percent, the semi-official Fars news agency reported.

Iran has no problem in the production of high grade nuclear fuel for the Tehran research reactor, Mojtaba Hashemi-Samareh said in Tehran.

Hashemi-Samareh said Iran intended to procure its needed fuel from international suppliers in line with a policy of detente and as part of its confidence-building efforts, the report said.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has drafted an agreement which calls for shipping most of Iran's existing low-grade enriched uranium to Russia and France by the end of the year, where it would be processed into fuel rods with the purity of 20 percent.

The higher-level enriched uranium would be transported back to Iran to be used in the research reactor in Tehran for the manufacture of medical radioisotopes.

Iran has rejected the deal, demanding a simultaneous exchange between low and higher level enriched uranium inside the country.
